Supporting Women in STEM at Towson University
The Hill-Lopes Scholars Program provides dedicated, transformational support for STEM majors at TU to improve the advancement and retention of women in STEM fields. This multi-year program supports Hill-Lopes Scholars through community, professional development, and career exploration.
Scholars receive a $1,000 scholarship each year, as well as financial support to attend professional scientific meetings and to participate in career-building conferences, workshops and educational trips. Scholars also develop their scientific and professional skills through one-to-one mentorship, research, and experiential programs designed to prepare them for the STEM workforce.
The Hill-Lopes Scholars program was established in the Jess & Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics at TU through a generous gift from Barbara Hill and Ancelmo Lopes.
