Honoring the Legacy of Coach Carl Runk

Coach Carl Runk was more than a coach – he was a Towson University legend whose impact on our lacrosse program and the broader community will never be forgotten. His leadership, passion, and unwavering commitment shaped generations of student-athletes, leaving a lasting legacy of excellence.

Towson Athletics is preparing to embark on $38 million of renovations to South Campus facilities, including renovating and adding over 30,000 square feet to the Field House. Within this renovation, there will be a dedicated wing for both of the lacrosse programs, bringing online coaches offices, meeting rooms and recruiting spaces. In Coach Runk’s honor, we invite all who were inspired by his remarkable career to come together and support this campaign to name the Lacrosse Coaches Suite the Coach Carl Runk Lacrosse Suite as we celebrate his enduring influence on Towson Lacrosse.

“How awesome will it be to walk into the Field House and enter into our offices named for such a massive man that touched generations of Towson Lacrosse players and paved the way for us to be where we are today!” said Coach Shawn Nadelen. “We will meet with our players in the suite and they will see Coach Runk's name and feel his impact still today.  When we arrange for recruits to visit Towson, the "Coach Carl Runk Lacrosse Suite" will be on their itinerary, showcasing where we will meet them. Coach's name and legacy will be seen and said every day!”
